Hooray For Humans

Well the Q and not U show was awesome. I met Tal there, this kid I've been playing with music lately, and I danced for over an hour straight with my old 3-east residents, Katie and Elise, and we had a blast! Sad to see them go, but it was good seeing them for the upteenth time--Q and not U, that is.

I also bought the Jackson 5 "Anthology" Record there, which has some of my favorite tracks from the ABC album on it, and some pretty awesome new ones...I'm still hunting for the ABC LP, that'll be my new mission.

I have a quiz tomorrow and have to give a short presentation to the class about "three tips for effective teaching," and I'm doing something sort-of radical, and really excited.

I just read "The Whore of Mensa," a short story by Woody Allen, in the book WITHOUT FEATHERS (by Allen) and it's awesome...instead of prostitutes giving sex, they give intellectual stimulation. So instead of having sex with two women, you'd compare Milton and Melville's take on individual realism with two-girls; you get the point, but it's good, so check it out!

Oh yeah, one more weird thing: at the show, I saw one of the kids I teach freshman seminar too, who wears a Joy-Division shirt, and plays the voice of Molly on THE MAGIC SCHOOL BUS (no joke, her gradmom is the CEO or some stuff, she's got the hookup: but her voice is super-cute).

I'm missing someone right now a lot, but know everything will be ok. Cheers to life, and all the cool people it brings my way!

21 techinally "tomorrow." My mother is in a panic that I don't drink myself to death: don't worry, I won't. I doubt I'll get trashed. However, I'm totally getting drunk, and Japanese-Drunk-Dialing my friend Steve! I told him I wouldn't, so I have to now!
